FormForge extension privacy policy
Last updated: 9 August 2026
This policy covers the FormForge Chrome extension. The flinthive.com website is covered by a separate privacy policy, which is where purchases and support email are dealt with.
The short version
FormForge does not collect, transmit or store your personal data. The extension makes no network calls. Everything it does happens inside your browser, on your device.
What FormForge stores
FormForge stores the following on your own device, using Chrome's extension storage:
- Your settings — data language, email prefix, generated password, theme and so on
- Any profiles you create, including the values you type into them
- Any field rules and per-site rules you create
- Your Pro licence key, and the result of verifying it
- Up to a few recent snapshots of the above, so you can undo a mistake
If you are signed into Chrome and have extension sync enabled, Chrome may synchronise your settings, profiles and rules across your own devices using your Google account. That transfer is performed by Chrome, not by FormForge, and the data is never visible to us. You can prevent it by turning off extension sync in Chrome.
What FormForge does not do
- It makes no network requests of any kind. There is no endpoint it contacts, at any time, for any reason.
- It does not send the contents of any web page anywhere.
- It does not send the values it fills into forms anywhere.
- It does not use any AI or language-model service. No text you see or enter is transmitted to any third party for processing.
- It contains no analytics, telemetry, tracking pixels, session recording or advertising code.
- It does not sell, rent or share your data with anybody, for any purpose.
- It does not read your browsing history, bookmarks, cookies or passwords.
- It does not execute code downloaded from the internet.
When FormForge can see a web page
FormForge holds no standing permission for any website. It cannot read or modify a page until you explicitly ask it to, by one of:
- clicking the FormForge toolbar icon,
- pressing a FormForge keyboard shortcut, or
- choosing a FormForge item from the right-click menu.
Chrome grants access only for that action, on that tab, and revokes it immediately afterwards. When FormForge reads a page it looks only at form fields and their labels, in order to decide what to type. Nothing it reads is stored or transmitted.
You may optionally grant a specific site permanent access from the Settings page, if you want fills to run without a gesture. This is off by default, is entirely your choice, and can be revoked at any time from the same page.
Your Pro licence
Buying Pro happens on the flinthive.com website, not inside the extension. The extension is never involved in the payment and never sees any payment detail.
When you buy, a signed licence key is emailed to you and you paste it into the extension's Settings page. The extension checks the key's signature against a public key that is built into the extension package, on your own device. It does not contact a licensing server, our website, or the payment processor to do this — which is what allows the extension to make no network calls at all.
The licence key itself is stored in your local extension storage alongside your other settings. What happens to the email address and payment details you used at checkout is described in the website privacy policy.
Children
FormForge is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Because the extension holds no data about you and transmits nothing, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete on request in relation to the extension itself.
All data the extension stores is on your device and under your control:
- Export it — Settings → Backup & restore → Export to file
- Delete it — uninstall the extension, which removes all local extension storage. To remove synced copies, also clear extension data in your Chrome sync settings.
For rights relating to your purchase record — the email address and billing data held by us or by Paddle — see the website privacy policy, which explains how to make a request and to whom.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the extension will be updated and the change noted in the store listing's release notes and on the changelog. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
